NEWSLETTER - JULY 2018
RE-BOOKING FOR THE SEPTEMBER COURSE:
Those who wish to enroll for the next course, who are remaining at the same level and are happy with the same day and time may enroll directly into the same class at the desk on the day the assessment form is received. If your child has moved level please complete an enrolment form – all forms are at the desk. If your child is remaining at the same level but you wish to change time or day you will also need to complete an enrolment form. Please ensure all forms are completed and returned on the day the assessment form is received.
A copy of the new timetable is available either on the notice board or left on the chairs around poolside. A copy is also available to view on the website. All assessment forms will be handed out at the beginning of each lesson. Anyone who cannot return the form on the day should email to the address noted above or text on 0794 173 8984 with the 3 preferred options. The enrolment options MUST reach me before Thursday 5th July @ 9am. (any received after this day and time I would not be able to guarantee that we could accommodate).

COMPLETING THE ENROLMENT FORM
When completing your options of new classes; if we are unable to accommodate the times you ask for we will text you on the 5th and offer the classes that we still have spaces in. Please bear in mind that some classes are more popular than others (week days early) and if you list only these times it is quite possible you may not get your options. The more flexible you are able to be the easier it is for us to be able to accommodate everyone. Please also note on the form if you are tying in with a sibling and what time their lesson is. All those who complete an enrolment form will be sent a text on Thursday afternoon 5th July stating the day & time of their childs next course of lessons starting September. All those who enrol at the desk on the day the assessment form is given will not receive a text as the place is confirmed directly you rebook.
PAYMENT
Places will be held after reserving a space in a class until the following week to allow you time to make payment. Any spaces that have been reserved and not paid for by Monday 16th July will receive a text to remind them of payment. ANY PAYMENTS NOT RECEIVED BY THE LAST DAY OF THE TERM – WEDNESDAY 18TH JULY WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE CLASS LISTS WITH NO FURTHER CONTACT.
We fully appreciate that some parents with more than 1 child may wish to stagger payments and we are quite open to this option. Please make your intentions known before the end of term if you wish to make alternative arrangements. Otherwise your child will be removed from the class lists and not be expected at lessons the following term. Please note that the preferred option of payment is either BACS or cash. Cost of 14 week course £121.80
RAFFLE
As I'm sure many of you are aware the pool is owned by a charity and all the operational runnings and upkeep of the pool are performed by volunteers. I am heavily involved with the committee and the upkeep of the pool. For the last 20 years the swim school has run in harmony with the main function of the hydrotherapy pool which is to provide a pool for those in the local area with ailments or a disability where the warm water and small safe environment is beneficial to their well being. The pool is very well used and the timetable full. To help with continued running costs once a year the committee organise a raffle. I have placed a raffle ticket in each assessment form and if everyone could purchase one we could go a long way to helping with raising funds. The first 3 prizes are cash prizes.
HALF TERM & BANK HOLIDAYS
We will run lessons as usual through the next half term Monday 22nd October – Friday 26th October.
STAFF CHANGES
From next term there will be a number of changes for the Wednesday classes.
Firstly the timetable will change instructors; Anne will be teaching the first 4 stroke classes and the last 3 beginner classes.
Unfortunately Lauren* will not be able to continue working on Wednesdays. Noeleen (who has been occasionally assisting Lauren and who runs classes on a Tuesday) will be taking over her the lessons and will teach the first 4 beginner classes and the last 3 stroke classes.
Jasmine who currently assists Lauren will be starting an apprenticeship in September. Nicole will assist Noeleen and Molly (who assists on a Monday) will assist Anne.
*Lauren will continue to teach on a Saturday and assist on a Monday.
EATING ON POOLSIDE
May we please reiterate to all parents that food should not be consumed within the pool premises. Any food that is inadvertently spilt on the poolside can end up in the pool itself which can be quite off putting for those in the pool and can also put the chemical levels out of sync. If your children do need a snack then can we suggest it is either eaten on the way home or your child is taken out to the car to eat. We hope you understand this is in the best interests of our pupils.
WEB SITE
Please check the website for up-to-date information including term dates, a copy of the newsletter and the list of all pupils who have received the Certificate of Achievement from each class.
FUN WEEK
The last week of term is fun week and your child may come along to ANY one of the sessions listed below on the half hour. No pupil will be able to join in midway between sessions. We will adhere to maximum bather load which means that when we reach 35 pupils in a session we will have to ask those that arrive after that number has been reached to wait for the next session to start (this doesn't happen very often!). PLEASE NOTE THE BUSIEST SESSIONS TEND TO BE THE EARLIEST TIMES
The times are as follows:
Saturday 14th July, First session 9.00am - Last session 10.30am
Sunday 15th July, First session 9.30am - Last session *10.00am
Monday 16th July, First session 5.00pm - Last session 6.30pm
Tuesday 17th July, First session 5.00pm - Last session 5.30pm
Wednesday 18th July, First session 5.00pm - Last session 6.30pm
May I take this opportunity on behalf of all the instructors and assistants to wish you a very happy summer break. We look forward to seeing you all next term.
Best Wishes,
Anne
