Those who wish to enroll for the next course, who are remaining at the same level and are happy with the same day and time may enroll directly into the same class at the desk on the day the assessment form is received. If your child has moved level please complete an enrolment form – all forms are at the desk. If your child is remaining at the same level but you wish to change time or day you will also need to complete an enrolment form. Please ensure all forms are completed and returned on the day the assessment form is received.

All assessment forms will be handed out at the beginning of each lesson. Anyone who cannot return the form on the day should email to the address below or text on 07941 738984 with the 3 preferred options. COMPLETING THE ENROLMENT FORM
When completing your options of new classes; if we are unable to accommodate the times you ask for we will text you on the 29th and offer the classes that we still have spaces in. Please bear in mind that some classes are more popular than others and if you list only these times it is quite possible you may not get your options. The more flexible you are able to be the easier it is for us to be able to accommodate everyone. Please also note on the form if you are tying in with a sibling and what time their lesson is. All those who complete an enrolment form will be sent a text on Thursday afternoon 29th November stating the day & time of their childs next course of lessons starting January. All those who enrol at the desk on the day the assessment form is given will not receive a text as the place is confirmed directly you rebook.
PAYMENT
Places will be held after reserving a space in a class until the following week to allow you time to make payment. Any spaces that have been reserved and not paid for by Monday 10th December will receive a text to remind them of payment. ANY PAYMENTS NOT RECEIVED BY THE LAST DAY OF THE TERM – WEDNESDAY 12TH DECEMBER WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE CLASS LISTS WITH NO FURTHER CONTACT.
We fully appreciate that some parents with more than 1 child may wish to stagger payments and we are quite open to this option. Please make your intentions known before the end of term if you wish to make alternative arrangements. Otherwise your child will be removed from the class lists and not be expected at lessons the following term. Please note that we can no longer accept payment by cheque, and fees should be paid for by either BACS or cash.
MEMBERSHIP FEE
The yearly membership fee of £10 fixed by the pool committee is due at the end of this current term. This fee can be paid together with the swimming fees. The membership monies will then be transferred to the pool account. Otherwise payment can be made separately either by cash or cheque at the desk. Cheques should be made payable to Hillingdon South Society for Mentally Handicapped Children.
Cost of 12 week swimming course £104.40
Membership fee: £10.00
Total due : £114.40
HALF TERM & BANK HOLIDAYS
We will run lessons as usual through the next half term Monday 18th February – Friday 22nd February.
STAFF CHANGES
From January we have a new member of staff starting on Wednesday her name is Shannon and she will be assisting Anne. Shannon has quite a background with the pool and is looking forward to starting working with us.
Emilia who started with us mid term and was a previous pupil. She has settled in very well and will continue working with us on a Tuesday assisting Noeleen.
Unfortunately Jasmine who works with us on a Sunday morning assisting Jan will be leaving us at the end of this term as she now has a full time apprenticeship. Jasmine also has a great affinity with the swim school having once been a pupil herself. She has been a great asset to the swim school and we wish her well in all she does in the future. Lauren will assist Jan from next term
DOOR
As the weather is getting colder could we please respectfully ask that you ensure the front door to the pool is kept closed as much as possible. If the door is left open it does send quite a cold draft to those in the shallow end of the pool. Also because the pool water is very warm the cold air then creates a ‘fog’ over the pool water surface. We appreciate your assistance in this matter.
BADGES AND CERTIFICATES
Over the next couple of weeks all pupils will be working towards the badges and certificates available at the level of their class. If you wish to purchase any certificates then please go to the desk where we can order them for you. Certificates do have to be paid for in advance as we print them. The cost of a Badge and Certificate is £2.50.
TIMING
Can we again respectfully remind you that it is quite important that pupils arrive for their lessons on time. If they arrive late it can quite often put them on the wrong foot for the lesson and we don’t achieve as much as we hoped to. The class is also disrupted and quite often explanation of practices has to be repeated causing delay within the lesson. Of course sometimes running late will happen and we totally understand that but if every effort can be made to get your children to the lessons on time it will be much appreciated
HATS
Can we also remind you that when a pupil moves to the deeper end of the pool they should wear a black hat. The idea of a different colour hat for each end of the pool is primarily for the safety of all pupils. Staff can tell at a glance where each individual pupils lesson takes place and of course their current capability. The hats should be either Balck for the deeper end of the pool or Blue for the shallow end of the pool. No other coloured hats should be worn.
WEB SITE
Please check the website for up-to-date information including term dates, a copy of the newsletter and the list of all pupils who have received the Certificate of Achievement from each class.
FUN WEEK
The last week of term is fun week and your child may come along to ANY one of the sessions listed below on the half hour. No pupil will be able to join in midway between sessions. We will adhere to maximum bather load which means that when we reach 35 pupils in a session we will have to ask those that arrive after that number has been reached to wait for the next session to start (this doesn't happen very often!). Please note that there will be no session on Sunday 9th December due to the staff Christmas party the night before. There will be an additional hour on the Saturday session.
PLEASE NOTE THE BUSIEST SESSIONS TEND TO BE THE EARLIEST TIMES
The times are as follows:
Saturday 8th December, First session 9.00am - Last session 11.30am
Sunday 9th December, NO SESSION
Monday 10th December, First session 5.00pm - Last session 6.30pm
Tuesday 11th December, First session 5.00pm - Last session 5.30pm
Wednesday 12th December, First session 5.00pm - Last session 6.30pm
May I take this opportunity on behalf of all the instructors and assistants to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Wonderful New Year. We look forward to seeing you all next term.
Best Wishes,
Anne
